i'm on vacation in the states.

i am not drawing.

i have zero time for creativity.

i am a bad, bad artist.

in fact i'm not even checking my deviantart! this is the first time i've been on in like a month and i feel bad but as soon as i get back on july 20th i'm going to dedicate every minute to my art!!

well maybe not but... yea. happy july to everyone! :D

round two

Journal Entry: Fri May 9, 2008, 3:28 AM
round two of civil war, that is.

i'm not sure if anyone here has heard about the terrorist takeover currently consuming my city. it all started with a "peaceful protest" by the "worker's union", protesting "rising prices". in other words, it was an excuse for the opposition to wreak havoc, start a war, and take what they believe to be theirs: beirut.

said protest began on wednesday and, after dropping all pretenses, quickly degenerated into a fest of savagery and violence. rocks were thrown, reporters were beaten, bullets and RPG rockets were fired into the air killing anyone unfortunate enough to be in the way of their descent, cars were blown up, tires were burnt, and hundreds of roads were blocked.

mm hmm. i'm loving the peacefulness here. maybe it's just me, but i'm having a little trouble seeing the connection between random acts of violence and rising prices. perhaps i'm just too ignorant to understand how breaking things and blocking roads will lower prices of products which, by the way, are rising EVERYWHERE, and not just in lebanon.

but moving on. this was all just on wednesday, before the confrontation began. wednesday was a picnic compared to thursday. the leader of the aforementioned gang of uncivilized vagrants, a man who is the absolute picture of dishonesty, decided to make a speech. said speech inspired hundreds of his dogs to take to the streets and fight.

to be fair, they weren't the only ones to blame in the streetfighting. it takes two to tango, right? but the fact is they instigated the hostilities and they were the ones who began shelling the government party's office which happens to be 2 blocks down from my house. every few minutes my house shook. this carried on through the night, until the shooting abated. the opposition had captured the office, and continued to capture the rest of the city.

bye-bye, beirut.

wee-wees and va-jay-jays

Journal Entry: Mon Apr 14, 2008, 11:42 AM
let me start by saying thank you to all my amazing friends on this site for being so amazingly supportive and sweet. i had the worst month ever in march, i was going through a lot but everytime i went on dA there was someone there to make me smile :) i love you all!

ok, i'm done being cheesy. i'm quite far from done with my homework though. i have to prepare an oral presentation for TOK class on a rather racy topic: 'what distinguishes pornography from nude art?' deviantart is so perfect for gathering 'evidence'. you can find anything from breathtaking shots of the human figure in the most interesting composition and light, to closeups of, well, wee-wees and va-jay-jays, to put it in PG terms. not that wee-wees and va-jay-jays can't be artistic or beautiful. to me, the difference is the motive behind the creation. porn is created to excite people sexually, whereas nude art is created to appreciate and display the wonders of the human figure.

but that's just me! to each his own, i guess. so i have to search the internet for various images of both nude art and porno, to use as examples. that should be interesting. i'm kind of dreading the latter, lord knows what i'll find....

still alive!!

i know i havent been on dA for AGES but i have not, in fact, fallen off the face of the planet. i've just had way too much on my plate lately... i'm going through a breakup so painful that it's surreal, and instead of inspiring me to create more, i'm more 'blocked' than ever. i still need to put aside more time for this though!! hopefully this weekend will allow for that.

to quote james morisson, i know that it's a wonderful world but i can't feel it right now.
